Upon completing her BA in English Drama and History at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Wendy moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia to attend NSCADU where she discovered her connection with clay. Since graduating with a BEd Art Specialist degree in 2003, Wendy has spent most of her time teaching the fundamentals of ceramics and creating one of a kind pieces for exhibition and sale in local galleries and artisan boutiques. Drawing on the influence of her travels to India and various Asian countries,, her forms and shapes reflect the soft feminine lines and fluidity found in ancient Eastern architecture and art. Her iridescent glaze colours are reminiscent of lush vegetation, water and the evolving climate. She currently works at the Nova Scotia Design Crafts Council, while continuing to create pottery in her own studio in Halifax.
