Yasugi-shi in Shimane-ken is Japan’s steel-making (tatara) centre since ancient times. It is the home of Hitachi Metals, Ltd., producer of the Yasugi Aogami blue paper steel.
Tatara, the ancient Japanese method of smelting steel, produced the tama-hagane, the material for the famed Japanese swords.
The Yasugi Aogami blue paper steel is made from the modernized version of tatara.
The nut & bolt joint allows the user to adjust the tightness of the clippers.
